Reading is a very boring thing for most of the people until they find the benefits of it.
Similar to you, I hated reading before 2021. When I saw people reading, I always thought, "Why the heck do people waste time on this instead of spending it on meaningful activities?" I was wrong at that time. Reading is the most important activity for personal growth.
My mentor shared a saying with me that changed my entire perspective. It went:
Those who don’t study history are doomed to repeat it.
After hearing this, I realized that I was repeating the same mistakes others in the world had already made. Why can't I just learn from their trials and errors and spend my time in more useful areas?
I started my reading journey with the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. It was so engaging that I couldn't stop myself from reading it. I was able to immediately establish three essential habits for personal growth: reading, exercise, and meditation.
Since then, I have been reading self-help books on habits, the mind, communication, entrepreneurship, enlightenment, career development, marketing, business, leadership, and self-improvement.
